Billing & Refunds

Checkout is closed. GRADUATE at 100 fires only at a cost-adjusted mean of +0.10R or better. Checkout stays closed until then. Until a lane clears that pre-registered bar, there is no paid subscription to buy, no checkout page that accepts payment, and no way to send us money for the service.

• The waitlist takes no card. Joining the waitlist requires an email address and nothing else. No payment method is collected, no charge is created, no authorization hold is placed, and joining creates no obligation to ever subscribe.
• What the waitlist does: it locks the founding rate of $49/month for you, redeemable if and when checkout opens. After a lane graduates and checkout opens, the standard rate is $89/month.
• The free tier stays free. The delayed journal and stand-down feed require no card and no subscription.

If any page, message, or person asks you for payment for lvls while checkout is closed, it is not us. Report it to hey@composite.fyi.

When a lane graduates and checkout opens, the offering is a monthly subscription with these terms:

• Monthly billing, auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly billing period, charging the payment method on file, until you cancel.
• Everything stated before you pay. The checkout screen states the price you will be charged, that the subscription auto-renews, the date of your next renewal, and how to cancel — all before you confirm the purchase. There are no terms that appear only after payment.
• No trials that convert silently, no hidden tiers, no add-ons. The price on the checkout screen is the whole price.

You can cancel at any time, for any reason, with one click from your account page — the same place you manage billing. No email required, no chat with anyone, no retention flow standing between you and the cancel button.

• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access through the period you already paid for, and no further charges occur.
• There are no cancellation fees.
• If the one-click path is ever broken, email hey@composite.fyi and we will cancel the subscription manually, effective as if the click had worked.

The founding rate of $49/month is a rate lock, not a lifetime guarantee of anything else:

• It stays locked for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. General price changes to the standard rate do not touch it.
• It is lost on lapse. If you cancel, or if your subscription lapses because a renewal charge fails and is not cured within the grace window Stripe provides, the founding rate is forfeited. Rejoining afterward is at the then-current standard rate — $89/month at graduation, or whatever the published standard rate is at that time.
• The founding rate attaches to your account and is not transferable or resellable.

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. That includes partial billing periods, periods you did not use the service, periods after you cancel but before the period ends, and periods in which fewer alerts published than you expected — the engine fires when its gates read go, and no billing period carries any promise of alert volume.

• Where the law requires a refund — including statutory cooling-off rights and pro-rata rights for partial periods in jurisdictions that mandate them — we honor it, in full, without argument.
• Courtesy refunds are possible. We may issue a refund or credit at our sole discretion in individual cases — for example, a billing error or a duplicate charge. A courtesy refund in one case sets no precedent for any other.
• To request one, email hey@composite.fyi from the address on your account with the approximate charge date.

lvls does not sell, and has never sold, lifetime access, lifetime deals, one-time-payment plans, or resellable seats. Anyone claiming to sell you a lifetime deal, a discounted seat, or any access to lvls outside this site is not us — it is someone taking your money for something that does not exist. The only rates are the two published here, and the only place to subscribe, once checkout opens, is this site. If you see such an offer, forward it to hey@composite.fyi.

Billing is handled by Stripe. Card numbers go to Stripe, not to us — we never see or store your full payment details. Charges appear on your statement under the descriptor shown at checkout. Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy govern its processing; see our Privacy Policy for what we hold ourselves.

We may change the standard rate on prospective renewals. If a change affects a plan you are subscribed to, you get advance notice before it takes effect at a subsequent renewal, with time to cancel first. The founding rate is exempt from general increases for as long as it remains locked under Section 4.
